I want to make listening to or subscribing to a podcast as easy as sending an email. Or easier!A very worthy goal, I don’t doubt it. Sounds a bit like the universal Subscribe button that some people think is needed to get #IndieWeb writing going again. In any event, I wish them much luck and will be attempting to keep an eye on podTo.

Interesting reading, though I cannot quite see how the various personae might map onto a single micro.blog site. Nevertheless, I look forward to whatever you come up with.

One question. I know 10C offers Notes and Todos and Photos, but I have never seen anything here that would encourage me to use those facilities. My notes are in nvALT and my todos are on paper and my photos are in lot of places, but they’re all on my desktop machine. So why would I want to use those facilities here? And are you sure they are worth keeping in your “silo”?

Webmentions are the glue that sticks all the bits in all the sites together.That’s my one-liner about one of the core ideas about the #IndieWeb, but it doesn’t actually tell you very much if you want to know how the glue works. I’ve kind of absorbed a moderately high-level abstraction over the past little while of playing with webmentions, but a friend asked for more:Do you know of any diagrams that explain how this stuff works without all the … words that web communities seem to enjoy creating? I keep coming back to this topic every so often, and every time I return things just appear more complicated and broken than before …I don’t think that last opinion is merited, but then I would say that. And right now I don’t have the time to write up my understanding. I’m pretty sure I saw something clear and to the point a little while back, but I’m blowed if I can find it now. Webmentions · Rudiger Meyer is another good verbal description of the how, along with the why and the what. These may not answer the question fully, but they are a start. And they might inspire me to write my own version, especially if I could have a synchronous discussion about it with my interlocuter.

If I were any kind of entrepreneur (which I’m not) I’d be figuring out how to hook up with supermarkets – or even the local greengrocer – to turn the bananas they throw out into my highly desirable banana bread.

I hear you. There’s no way on earth to be precise about the words for a pre-ferment, and I for one tend to use them interchangeably, at least to some extent. Of course, if Reinhart offered precise definitions, even hydrations, of “stiff” and “wet” that would at least make consistency possible. His video on the 12 steps is rather good, and something I show in my workshops.

Doing a little tidying up on my site and wondering whether there’s a preferred font-awesome icon for micro-blog.

Atlantic City came up in iTunes shuffle today, reminding of this absolute masterpiece (best enjoyed while listening along; also, if the images seem like ancient history, note they’re from just 3 months ago)  So very fine; I had never seen this before. I hope it never vanishes.

Nice to see Stacey De Polo set off on her exploration of things #indieweb, but I find it hard to imagine that as of my reading, not one of her contacts on either Twitter or FB has reacted in any way. I guess some plugin work still needed. Which is part of the reason I am writing this reply.
