@sod Furthermore, replies from some Mastodon people appear in my Timeline, others only in Mentions.

@sod I see replies from Mastodon to my posts that originate on Mastodon, but posts that I originate here and hope to cross-post to Mastodon do not appear there.

@sod My Mastodon handle is present, but I want the option of cross posting manually, so I have not enabled auto cross posting. Is my understanding of the docs wrong? I want to decide whether to cross post individually.

@help Just want to confirm that cross-posting to Mastodon is available ONLY if you have a custom domain? I was able to enter details for a Mastodon account, but nothing has ever appeared there, and my reading of the docs is that it only works with a custom domain.

@manton Thanks. I’m thinking now that I should really have created another account, with a different email, because this one now duplicates historical posts brought in by rss. For check-ins, I might try make an iOS shortcut and store the location in the post itself.

@jeremycherfas Still lots to tidy up and even more to learn. Is there really no plug-in for check-ins? Also not sure why I am being so completist. When I quit Twitter I left it all behind without a moment’s hesitation.
